Halfway Home

Shot from the midpoint of today’s ride, with the sun just setting behind the clouds.

New York, New York

This has been a great week in New York City. I was in town for New Hire Technical Training, or NHTT to its friends, which means pretty intense ten-hour days on top of the weeks of prerequisites to even get to this point – but it’s New York Freaking City, so I still took time to wander around. One day I got a step count in the 20ks!

Anyway, here are some shots from the week.

Rainbow 🌈

I love this shot, with the sunset light finally peeking under the clouds after a whole day of rain, and catching that perfect rainbow.

The fact that the train I was waiting for, and more importantly the person I was there to meet, were right at the end of that rainbow, just makes it that much better!

Good Morning!

Lots going on around here, none of which makes suitable blog fodder – so instead, have a view of SFO and San Francisco Bay from my hotel room this week.

Very Metal Hurlant

Terminal 1, Paris Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG), looking like something drawn by Enki Bilal in the snow.

The interior of the terminal is also pretty cool. The whole building is a ring around an empty core, criss-crossed by transparent Habitrail-style walkways, complete with disconcertingly bouncy moving walkways.

France: please don’t ever change.
